Saucier chef will prepare sauces, gravy, soups and sometimes pasta dishes for restaurants, hotels or other hospitality businesses. This position requires a chef to be very knowledgeable about mixtures and spices that will create a distinctive sauce.
Proven experience as Saucier Chef,
Great attention to detail and creativity
Organizing and leadership skills
Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
Diploma in culinary arts
Work closely with other chefs to develop flavors that compliment entrees, appetizers, and desserts
Create a variety of sauces, soups, and stocks in both classical and contemporary culinary genres
Apply the sauces they’ve created to dishes
Garnish and present the meal according to specific house recipes
Keep their work areas clean and follow strict safety and sanitation procedures
